To announce the new series The Purge, USA tapped Primal Screen to create a crash course in the show’s deadly alternative history. All illustration, design and sound were by Primal Screen staff.
At first the plan was to make an animated short linking favorite Nick characters, using classic video games. But as the spot took shape, it became clear that the game should be playable. So while we worked on the animated piece for broadcast, Nick made the games using some of the same art. Primal Screen did character design, animation, graphic design and edit.
To supplement our 2014 relaunch package, comprises some 135 distinct pieces, all serving to reinforce the idea that PBS Kids is a fun, educational partner whom parents of young kids can trust. Of course we had a load of fun working on this project, but that wasn't our only reward: PBS Kids was recognized for Best Channel Design and Channel of the Year in 2016.
