The Law Offices of Meredith I. Madon provides legal representation and educational consulting to parents of students with special needs.
During the course of representation, the Law Offices of Meredith I. Madon may do the following in an attempt to secure a free appropriate public education (FAPE) for students with special needs:
- File for, and represent clients at, impartial hearings
- Represent clients at resolution sessions
- Represent clients at IEP meetings
- Serve as a legal consultant on issues relating to special education
Some students simply require a change in placement in order to receive FAPE. Other students whose rights to FAPE have been, or are currently being, violated may be entitled to one or more of the following:
- Funding from the New York City Department of Education (DOE) for private school
- Funding from the DOE for private tutoring services
- Funding from the DOE for educational services including but not limited to speech and language services, ABA therapy and social skills training
- Funding from the DOE for private evaluations
- Compensatory education

- A "Defer to CBST" recommendation
- Educational accommodations
- Testing accommodations
- Paraprofessional assistance
- Busing to and from school
- 12-month school years
- Dismissal of illegal or unjust suspensions
- Promotion to the next grade in the event that a student was illegally denied promotion
- Home instruction services
